Teeth Whitening

Your smile can make the biggest impression without even saying much. It's no wonder why people are infatuated with making their smiles brighter and more whiter.  If you are a coffee drinker, smoker, consume red wine, or even get your regular cleanings you can benefit from teeth whitening. A single session can brighten your smile an astounding 2 to 4 shades.

A Single Teeth Whitening Session

A single teeth whitening session is 1 hour and is recommended for individuals who have more sever discolorations and stains...(smokers, heavy wine drinkers, coffee drinkers).

Frequently Asked Questions About LED Teeth Whitening

What Causes Teeth Stains?

Certain foods that when consumed over time, (chromogenic foods) have the ability to stain the teeth. Coffee, certain drinks, pastas, and red wine are all well-known chromogenic agents. Certain tobacco products can also stain the teeth severely.

How does Teeth Whitening Work?

There are two types of tooth stains: “extrinsic,” those stains that are on the surface of the tooth, and “intrinsic,” those stains that are on the inside of the tooth. Both types of staining show through the enamel as discoloration.

Some whitening kits use a form of Peroxide to bleach the teeth. Dental grade carbamide peroxide is used to professionally whiten the enamel and lighten most enamel stains.

It works like this: the active ingredient in the solution breaks down, allowing oxygen to enter the enamel, resulting in bleaching of the teeth to a lighter color. Teeth whitening only works on natural teeth and enamel. No crowns or veneers.

Are There any Side Effects to Teeth Whitening?

Temporary sensitivity of either the gums or the teeth is the most common characteristic of the whitening process. A protective agent is applied to the gum area to protect the gums from any minor sensitivity from whitening agent. Sensitivity subsides within 24-48 hours

What is the Light used for and is it safe?

When the LED light is placed into position, it emits a cold blue light and enhances the whitening effect. When the light is placed into position properly, it is capable of simultaneously illuminating all of your teeth (both upper and lower). The light is totally safe and causes no harm to the body or individual. Protective goggles are worn to protect the eyes from the LED light.

How White Will my Teeth Get?

The degree to which your teeth whiten is difficult to predict. The number of shades brighter will depend on how porous your teeth are naturally and the degree of staining. In most cases, we will be able to whiten your teeth at least two shades lighter than your current shade.
